You can choose between the following topics for your presentation:

Information on Presentations:

  • Account for 40 % of  the grade

  • Can be done as team work and presented as a group. A team should not consist of more than 3 members.  

  • Regarding presentation length please refer to the section below*.

  • May include video clips but in total not more than 5 minutes. Usually you will need 2-3 minutes for presenting one slide.

  • Presentations aAre to be submitted in PPT/X or PDF format

 

Regarding the length of the presentation, please keep within the following time limits:

  • Presentations prepared by 3 participants: 20 minutes per participant
  • Presentations prepared by 2 participants: 23 minutes per participant
  • Presentation prepared by 1 participant: 30 minutes per participant.


Usually you need 2 minutes for 1 slide.

 

Key Questions or Issues to be addressed (Please note that the following questions are supposed to give you some direction but they do not constitute a structure for your presentation): 

P1 Scrum Concepts

What is the essence of the scrum process: how does it enhance innovation?

How does it compare to alternative tools such as Agility and Waterfall?

How can this tool used outside the software industry and can you give an example (feel free to use it for a problem that you are confronted with as a user of products and services)?

 

P2 Design School of Management

What is the difference of the Design School compared  to other ideation tools?

How does this concept fit into the Stage-Gate-Process for Innovation activities?

Can you give an example how the Design School works in Practice (you can also use a problem/solution that you are familiar with)?

 

P3 How Google works

What processes and strategies does Google have that directly foster innovation?

What processes and strategies do indirectly impact on innovation?

How can these measures be applied in non-tech companies and what impediments and resistance can be expected?

 

P4 From Good to Great - The Impact of Innovation  

How can companies increase their chances of survival?

Which of the root causes can be directly or indirectly linked to innovation?

Why did some of the companies described in the book did not survive the financial crisis of 2008 or had to be given substantial government aid?

 

P5 Exponential Organisations

What are the specific differences between exponential and normal organisations?

What is the role of innovation in exponential organisations?

Which part of the innovation processes are likely to be better designed in exponential organisations compared to traditional functional or regional driven organisations?

 

P6 How to Organize Change Management: “The Iceberg is Melting”?

What is the underlying story of the “Iceberg is melting”?

How does change management have to organized to overcome fears, resistance and indifference?

Why is it necessary to develop some marketing and a specific language for change processes?

How would you structure a change process for a specific problem that you are familiar with?

 

P7 Collaboration as a Precondition for Innovation

In what ways is collaboration a major driver of innovation?

How can collaboration be enhanced in corporate structures?

How can one balance the pros and cons of innovation?

 

P8 Idea Management Systems and their impact on Innovation

What kind of Idea Management Systems do exist and what are the main differences?

How can employees be motivated to take part in Idea Management Systems?

Why would Idea Management systems succeed or fail in companies?

·        In which way does “Group Think” impact on the innovation capacity of a company?

·       How does “Group Think” impact on the different processes that are essential for innovation management?
